KARKON

One of the carnivals that UKM hosts to celebrate, particularly graduation, is KARKON. There are several competitions throughout the carnival, including singing and dance. I am among the students from my college who competed in the tournament. My college chooses Bidayuh Sarawak as the primary theme for the dance competition, Dansar Kreasi, where we must perform a traditional dance.

My group spent weeks perfecting and enhancing our dancing routine. We stayed late almost every day, challenging ourselves to get better and perfect every motion so that we could give our best performance. Reciting the steps was not enough; we also needed to show off the emotion and vigor that really made our performance unique. I am immensely appreciative of my coach, who consistently holds us to a high standard. Their constant faith in our abilities, along with the considerate advice and support they offer, motivates us to put in more effort and improve each and every time. Their guidance inspires us to pursue greatness in all we do and assists us in overcoming obstacles. In retrospect, all of the hard work and late nights were worthwhile.

When my team placed third in the competition, all of the sacrifices we made, the endless practice hours, and the restless nights came off handsomely. Knowing that all of our effort had paid off was a moment of unadulterated happiness and pride. We had moments of exhaustion, self-doubt, and uncertainty about our ability to complete the journey. But ultimately, we persevered as a team, encouraging one another and remaining committed to our objective. We were incredibly grateful that our combined hard work and perseverance produced such a fantastic result. It was about demonstrating to ourselves that we could accomplish something genuinely remarkable with commitment and effort, not just about the trophy or the position. The lesson from the experience

Parade champion

SUKEM is an annual event held by UKM. I was one of the dancers in the parade team that my college sent for the closing celebration. Even though it was a last-minute practice, the results were flawless. My college won the parade even though we didn't receive a higher ranking in SUKEM. We were able to overcome the obstacle and win the parade despite our last-minute training. It was about collaboration, perseverance, and giving it our all when it counted most, not simply about preparation. This victory demonstrates that, even with limited preparation time, everything is achievable with the correct attitude and hard work.

As a first-year student, it is one of my favorite times at UKM. Despite its modest size, our college's real power is found in its people's togetherness rather than in the number of buildings, students, or resources. We can accomplish amazing things as a community when we band together, help one another, exchange ideas, and work toward shared objectives. Together, the distinct skills, viewpoints, and vitality that each person brings to the table produce a synergy that strengthens us against any obstacle. Even the tiniest groups can have the greatest impact when united.

My favourite cartoon characters

Stitch, the adorable little alien from Disney’s "Lilo & Stitch," is one of my absolute favorite characters! I’m totally obsessed with him! With his big ears and playful personality, he always makes me smile. I have so much Stitch merchandise, plush toys, shirts, mugs, you name it! My collection just keeps growing because I can’t get enough of his cuteness.

Stitch’s silly antics always crack me up! Whether he’s causing chaos or showing his softer side, he brings excitement to every scene. Plus, he’s just so cute! His funny expressions and playful nature brighten my day.

I also love how Stitch teaches us about acceptance. At first, he feels like an outsider, but Lilo’s love helps him find his place in the world. This shows that we should embrace each other’s differences and be there for one another.

In short, Stitch isn’t just a funny alien; he represents family, friendship, and acceptance. His story is a joyful reminder of how important it is to love and support each other. I can’t help but adore Stitch, and I’ll always be excited to add more to my collection of Stitch goodies!

What I love most about Stitch is his journey from a mischievous troublemaker to a caring friend. His transformation shows that anyone can change for the better, which is super inspiring! The idea of ‘ohana,’ or family, really speaks to me. Through his friendship with Lilo, Stitch learns that family is all about love and support, not just blood ties. Their bond is so heartwarming and reminds me to cherish the people I care about, no matter how different they are.

 Dance

Dancing is one of my favorite things to do, and I want to share why it brings me so much joy.

First and foremost, dancing allows me to express myself. When I dance, I can show my feelings without using words. Every move tells a story, whether I’m feeling happy, excited, or even a little sad. It’s a wonderful way to connect with my emotions.Dancing also makes me feel free. When the music starts, I can’t help but move! It’s like all my worries disappear, and I’m just enjoying the moment. The rhythm lifts my spirits and gives me energy.

One of the best parts about dancing is that it brings people together. Whether I’m at a party, a dance class, or just hanging out with friends, dancing creates fun memories and connections. It’s a way to share joy with others.

Plus, dancing is a great workout! I love that I can stay active while having fun. It helps me feel stronger and more flexible, and it never feels like a boring exercise routine.

I also enjoy exploring different dance styles. From ballet to hip-hop and salsa to contemporary, each style is unique and exciting. Trying out new moves keeps me engaged and allows me to express myself in different ways. And let’s not forget about the music! The right song can instantly make me want to dance. I love creating playlists that match my mood. Whether it’s upbeat pop or soulful tunes, music makes dancing even more enjoyable.

Finally, dancing helps me grow. Every time I dance, I learn something new about myself. I push my limits, gain confidence, and realize that it’s okay to be imperfect. The joy is in the journey, not just the end result.

In conclusion, dancing is my happy place. It’s a way to express myself, connect with others, stay active, and have fun. So whenever you hear a good song, don’t hesitate, get up and dance! You might just find your own joy in it.

 Night time

Why I love night time?

Nighttime is a magical part of the day that I truly cherish. The world becomes quiet as the day winds down, creating a peaceful atmosphere that helps me reflect on my thoughts and experiences.

The stunning night sky adds to the allure, with stars and the moon creating a breathtaking backdrop. Stargazing inspires me and reminds me of the vastness of the universe, filling me with wonder.

Nighttime also sparks my creativity. With fewer distractions, my mind can wander freely, leading to new ideas and inspiration that often elude me during the day.

Exploring the city at night feels adventurous. The streets transform under the glow of streetlights, and I love discovering cozy cafes and lively spots with friends, making unforgettable memories.

I find comfort in my nighttime routines. Winding down with a cup of tea, a good book, or a favorite show helps me relax and recharge for the next day.

There’s a unique connection to nature at night, too. The soothing sounds of crickets and rustling leaves create a calming atmosphere, and late-night walks allow me to feel more in tune with the world around me.

Finally, nighttime offers a fresh perspective. Shadows and moonlight make familiar places feel mysterious and beautiful, encouraging me to appreciate the little things I might overlook during the day.

In a busy world, I find joy in the night. It’s a time for peace, creativity, and connection. As the sun sets, I embrace all the wonders that nighttime has to offer.

 Fashion Styles

One of the primary factors influencing teens' interest these days is fashion. They are more drawn to fashionable looks. We can observe the extent to which fashion has changed over the years. Every age has its own distinct style, and the Georgian eras are my favorites. I adore the sophisticated appearance of royal hairstyles and dresses.

Naturally, I don't incorporate any of the Georgian styles into my everyday attire. I dress in street fashion. I enjoy dressing up, even for class. I love to look well, and I've gotten into the habit of styling myself. I like to experiment with different hairstyles and makeup looks.

Streetwear isn’t just about clothes for me, it’s a way to express who I am. What I love about it is how versatile it is. Whether I’m wearing a classic oversized hoodie with sneakers or trying out something more futuristic with techwear, streetwear always lets me stay comfortable while looking good.

For me, streetwear isn’t about following trends. It’s about wearing what feels right and what expresses who I am. Whether I’m dressing up or keeping it chill, streetwear is always my go-to style because it feels like the perfect fit.
