Week 2 – Getting to Know the Course & Tackling a Case Study

Week 2, our lecturer gave us a detailed introduction to the course, explaining key concepts in digital business strategies and what to expect in the coming weeks. It helped me understand the big picture — how businesses are evolving by integrating digital tools into their operations and marketing.

After class, we were assigned a case study to work on. This case study requires us to analyze a business’s digital strategy and suggest improvements. It’s exciting but also a bit challenging because I need to apply theory to a real-world scenario.

What was interesting:
Seeing how digital transformation affects not just marketing, but also customer experience and operations.

What was difficult:
Figuring out where to start with the case study — it feels broad, and I want to make sure I analyze it properly.

How I can apply this:
This case study is a great chance to practice critical thinking and apply digital business concepts, which will be useful in future projects or real business situations.

Subject: Digital Business Strategies
Semester: 3/2025
Lecturer’s Name: Dr. Nurul Hidayah Binti Md Razali

Week 1 – Catching Up and Getting Started

I missed the first class of the semester, so my journey into this subject started a little later than planned. I made sure to ask my classmates about what I had missed and reviewed the course materials uploaded by our lecturer. Even though I wasn’t physically present, I was curious and excited about what we would learn in Digital Business Strategies.

In the following class, we learned about digital marketing — how businesses use platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Shopee, to attract and engage customers. I also met my group members for the first time and we had our first team meeting, which helped me feel more connected and prepared for the coming weeks.

What was interesting:
Learning how businesses use social media and data to target customers more effectively.

What was difficult:
At first, I wasn’t sure how digital business was different from traditional e-commerce, but after discussing with my group, I started to understand.

Real-world application:
Even small businesses today use TikTok and Shopee to boost sales. I could apply these tools if I help a friend run a small online store or even start one myself.
